The desert and nothing else...

Bader and I do not want to hear about camps! Our goal is to have you discover the desert immersed in nature, thus sleeping under the stars in natural caves. If you stay several days, you will have the chance to spend time in different caves! And you will see that there is no better place to be! Far better than a 5* hotel, because you will have millions of stars above your head! The numerous camps that settled in Wadi Rum disfigure the desert, and do not male it possible to discover it the right way. Bader, descendant of a bedouin family passionnate about this unique place, makes the commitment to bring you to exceptionnal places during your tours, far away from crowds, so that you can feel and love the desert.

A few words about Wadi Rum...

Wadi Rum (or Wadi Ramm) is a desert with canyons, natural arches, cliffs and caves. It is located in the South of Jordan and was declared part of the World heritage in 2011 as a mixed natural and cultural heritage. The site is also called Iram in Nabatean texts (ancient civilizatiion that built Petra among other things). Drawings, carved inscriptions and archeological vestiges testify 120 centuries of human presence. Wadi Rum harbors rare and andemic fauna and flora. Small populations of Nubie ibexes, grey wolves, Blandord foxes, red foxes live there as well as the fugitive sand cat, that you may observe during your stay if you are lucky. Samll mammals, insects and reptiles are more common. Numerous prey birds can be seen during migration periods.

Questions you may have

Upon arrival in Jordan, you will be struck to see how calm and peaceful Jordan people are. Although it is located in an unstable area, Jordan is a very safe country and you will not encounter any issue. You will feel perfectly safe even if you travel alone!

Like many countries, the wildlife is composed of some animals that are not always the most friendly (scorpions and snakes). Nevertheless, campsites are carefully prepared, in places where you can sleep in complete peace! Moreover, at night, the temperature drops in the desert, and those few unwished inhabitants do not wander around.

Wadi Rum can be visited in winter (November to March) or in summer (April to October). Temperatures are as follows :

April to October : min between 17°C and 26°C / max between 29 and 39°C

Novembre à Mars : min between 9°C and 15°C / max between 20 and 27°C

In summer, in case of intense heat, our guides will find fresh places where wou will be able to rest and have your meals as you enjoy the desert.

In winter, it can be windy sometimes, which gives the feeling that the temperature is lower, but the campsites are well equiped and you will be provided everything you need (sleeping bags in particular), you will not be cold at night!

Yes! It is even our motto! But of course, those who want to stay in the main camp can also do it.

Yes! The tours will be according to your wishes.

Warm jackets for the night are advised, specially in winter of course, although all the required equipment (sleeping bags in particular) will be provided during your nights in the desert. For those who want to sleep outside the caves or simply have more privacy, tents can be provided. Please take good walking shoes and a hat, cap or scarf to protect yourself from the sun. For the rest, you have absolutely nothing to line up, water/tea (freely) and food will be provided during your whole stay in the desert!

The desert is big, and there are many things to see. The best is to stay 3 nights. What is more, for you to feel the desert, you will need to spend a minimum time in it, it will enable you to soak up the atmosphere and get into the rhythm of the place. But you can also simply come for a one day activity, or decide to stay 1 or 2 nights, you will always be welcome!

Jordan people speak Arabic of course but also English, however you will not even have to bother trying to make yourself understand since we can take you in charge right at the airport if needed! You can also reach Wadi Rum by yourself, in any case, once there, everyhting will be as you decided before your arrival!

It is the Jordanian Dinar (JD).

You will find the exchange rate in here

For the rate in CHF click here

Do not forget to take Jordanian Dinars with you before coming because credit/debit cards cannot be used in the camp and we will ask you to pay the second part of your stay once there.

There are now direct flights to Aqaba, a city located along the Red sea, near the Israelian border. From there, count 1 hour by car to the Wadi Rum entrance (Visitor Center).

There is also a daily direct bus that leaves between 11am and noon from Aqaba. But it is also very easy to take any bus driving to the North and ask to get dropped off at the main crossroad that leads to Wadi Rum. From there, there are 20 km to the Visitor Center (28 km to Wadi Rum Village), and this may be done by hitch-hiking. But we can also come and pick you up, either in Aqaba (with the most economical rate you can get there), or at the Visitor Center, do not hesitate to ask us!

From Petra : a minibus leaves in Wadi Musa around 6am to Wadi Rum. It is also possible to take a bus to Aqaba, ask to get dropped off at the main crossroad that leads to Wadi Rum and carry on by hitch-hiking. But there again, we can come and pick you up if necessary, do not hesitate to ask us!

We can also pick you up in other places if you need (Eilat, Petra, Amman, etc...). Just let us know where and when and we will organize the journey without you having to look for a taxi and compare the prices (best price guaranted!).

It is better to arrive in the morning, to have time to get an entry ticket (5JD) at the Visitor Center, enjoy the activities with us during the day and spend the night in a cave, a moment that will remain forever in your memory! However, may you have specific constraints, we will be there to help you and make your stay as convenient as possible!
